In commending the work of the Anti-Corruption Commission under the leadership of Francis Ben Kelfala Esq. in his strive to eradicate widespread corruption in the country; citizens have unequivocally stated that widespread corruption scares away international partners and other friendly potential foreign investors.


Foreign investors who have before now been interested in Sierra Leone have reconsidered that move since corruption is one of the key problems responsible for the backwardness of the country.

In a wide range of investigation conducted by this medium, citizens expressed enchantment over President Bio’s New Direction government to run a transparent administration of all its activities, thereby in the process, filtering out all those who are responsible in one way or the other for the backwardness of this nation.

Corruption, they said, drives away potential investors interested to invest in the country that would create job opportunities for citizens and also help move the country forward. The citizens emphasized that, the government should make it possible to filter out all corrupt elements to give confidence to the international community who want to come and help push development in the country.

A government official who preferred anonymity said, development partners would want to know how government implements programmes and projects that are funded by them and why these have been misused all these years. He also commented on the country’s laws, which he said, paralyze state matters.
