The Court of Appeal has issued a bench warrant for both Appellant/Convict Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray and surety Isha Babay Mansaray of No. 7 Tucker Drive, Majay Town, Goderich, for failing to appear before the court yesterday.
The warrant was issued during a hearing where A.J.M. Bockarie Esq. represented the State. The matter has been adjourned to Thursday 27th February, 2024.
This development follows the Court of Appeal’s earlier announcement that it would hear Mansaray’s appeal against his 2021 conviction for sexual penetration of a minor on Thursday 20th February, 2025 at 10:00a.m. at the Law Courts Building in Freetown.
Notices of the hearing had been served to both the State and Mansaray’s legal representatives.
Kamarainba Mansaray, who was removed as leader of the opposition Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) after he was found guilty of sexual penetration of a minor, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after his conviction. His appeal challenges his conviction.
