The chairman and leader for life of the main opposition party, former president Ernest Bai Koroma in responding to the report of the nine man committee appointed in May 2018, to carry out in depth
investigations into the circumstances of thier loss of the presidential elections held in March 2018 has dismissed the recent NRM uprising clamoring for change in the party as mere detractors who ave failed to realize the ordeals previously faced by the party which he said he had meritoriously conquered.

The chairman took an historical look of the party’s progress from 2002 to 2018 at which time he served as Member of Parliament and as well president of the nation. He went on to say he increased the number of APC MPs from five to 27. In 2007 he doubled the number of APC parliamentarians again from 27 to 59 and also won the presidency. Ernest Koroma said he received both local and international accolades for reshaping the party.

On elections in 2018 in which the APC lost to the former opposition SLPP party after ten years in governance, Ernest tendered his apologies for such an unexpected defeat and at the same time called on his comrades to accept it as a collective responsibility. His statement was also supported by outstanding comrades like Diana Konomanyi, Eddie Turay, Franklyn Bode Gibson and Ambassador Alimamy

Petito Koroma who spoke on behalf of the former Aspirant Dr Samura Kamara. Political observers say the chairman’s speech has brought to an end the aspirations of the NRM which has recently been clamoring for reforms with particular reference to the party’s constitutional clause which gives guarantees to the chairman of the party to act for life which was unanimouslysigned and sealed by the executive organ of the APC party, the National Advisory Council.(NAC).
