Honourable Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh yesterday Monday 13th November, 2023 launched the second edition of National Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair (2023 NYEEF) on the theme: “Creating Employment Entrepreneurship and Growth Opportunities for the Development of Future – Ready Youth” held at the Freetown International Conference in Aberdeen, Freetown.

NYEEF is an annual job fair organized by the Office of the Vice President that started last year with the objective of connecting final year students and job seekers to employability and entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Juldeh Jalloh said the NYEEF is a direct response to His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s creation of job opportunities for young Sierra Leoneans.

The Vice President said NYEEF is a linkage and building for networking of young people to gain access to decent jobs or become entrepreneurs.
He thanked the organizing team in his office, partners, supporting MDAs and sponsors for this year’s resounding success of NYEEF.

The VP furthered that job creation is a big challenge globally and that is why President Bio created the Big Five Game Changers and placed job creation second to ensure the creation of 500,000 jobs in five years.

The Minister of Youth Affairs, Mohamed Orman Bangura, expressed thanks and appreciation to the Vice President for the wonderful NYEEF initiative intended to create job opportunities for the youth.

He therefore entreated young people to give their best in every opportunity and stop blaming their parents, guardians and politicians for their future development.
The Minister suggested the creation of a stop-shop strategic platform in his Ministry to ensure job opportunities for the youth.

The Deputy Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Lansana Dumbuya, called on university authorities to redesign their curriculums that will suit the present job market both nationally and globally.
He harped on the several enactments Parliament has enacted this year to enhance youth employability and entrepreneurship locally and internationally.
