His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has warned intending presidential aspirants in the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) who want to succeed him after his second term will end in 2028.

Addressing the SLPP National Young Generation Council in Bo city yesterday Wednesday 22nd May 2024, President Bio observed that many stalwarts in the ruling party are moving around to succeed him without helping him deliver.

He warned that if they want to succeed him, they should help him deliver and use the success story as evidence to get his seat.

According to President Bio, “I see a lot of people jogging around to take my seat, but you should help me deliver, and at the end, you will use my success story as an evidence base data to get my seat.”

It could be recalled that very recently, both the traditional and social media were awash with stories of intending flagbearer aspirants who want to succeed President Bio in 2028, including Alhaji Musa Tarawally, whose intention to join the presidential race in the SLPP has become a highly controversial topic in the party.
